WEEKEND POTPOURRI — JUNE 3

FROM THIS NEW SHELF TO FULL!

After I had shelved still another “read” book onto my newest office bookshelf, I had to sigh.  And then throw up my hands.

How did this shelf get so full already?

NEWEST SHELF -- FULL ALREADY!

Okay, to be completely accurate, there are a few spaces left…like on the top shelf, I could move some of those knick-knacks treasures, to make room for more books.

But, of course, my mind went elsewhere.  While in the guest bathroom, I studied the little cabinet where I cram bathroom stuff and thought:  Hmm, a cute little wrought iron bookshelf, like they might have at that new shop in the neighborhood mall, could work out in here.

See how my mind meanders along, finding new places to store the books?  Wasn’t Sparky, my Kindle, supposed to take care of this problem?

SEE SPARKY!

Well, yes, and I’ve definitely been working on downloading lots of new books.  But there are always those books, including the ones that come in the mail for review, that have to be shelved.  And those that you want to have on a shelf so you can look at them.

But, in anticipation of adding that little shelf to the bathroom, I’m already trying to figure out where to put the displaced bathroom cabinet.  One of my other such cabinets ended up as a side table.

See, recycling finds many purposes.

So what do you do when your books overflow?  You probably do something sensible, like host giveaways or donate them to libraries.  I’ve done some of that, too.

But sometimes it’s hard to let go…..

  1. Hi Laurel! I have to chuckle because I had the same problem. Too many books and not enough room and now we’re moving into a tiny apartment and I will have even less space! I packed all my books into boxes and the books I have read but want to keep will go into storage.
I can’t bear to give away my books!! I know, bad.
So I know what I’m asking for next Christmas, Kindle!!! I already have a Sony ereader but I need more space. You know, it doesn’t get easier with an ereader!! LOL!

    1. Oh, Natalie, you are so right about that! Even with the Kindle, there are still physical books that somehow make their way into the house…LOL

Thanks for stopping by! And I first started noticing this problem when I moved to a smaller space.
