HUMP DAY POTPOURRI: BOOKS, FOOD, & FUN…

Good morning, and welcome to another Hump Day Potpourri event. (And yes, I celebrated Hump Day on Serendipity today, too, with my Luxuriating in Books post).

On Monday, however, my granddaughter Fiona and I went to Barnes & Noble (pictured above), where she bought books for her upcoming birthday.  She is home for a week, before going back to school in San Jose.

Before that, however, we had breakfast across the street at Mimi’s.  (The Bloody Mary is mine!).

My daughter and her husband, far left, visited a vineyard with friends who love wine.

And on Valentine’s Day, Heather and David “framed” themselves:

A very delightful week so far, and I’ve enjoyed some books, too, which you can read about over at my WWW Post.

Today I started reading The Vanishing Year, by Kate Moretti, a “dark, twisty, edge-of-your-seat suspense” (Karen Robards); it combines the classic sophistication of Ruth Rendell and A.S.A. Harrison with the thoroughly modern flair of Jessica Knoll.

Zoe Whittaker is living a charmed life. She is the beautiful young wife to handsome, charming Wall Street tycoon Henry Whittaker. She is a member of Manhattan’s social elite. She is on the board of one of the city’s most prestigious philanthropic organizations. She has a perfect Tribeca penthouse in the city and a gorgeous lake house in the country. The finest wine, the most up-to-date fashion, and the most luxurious vacations are all at her fingertips.

What no one knows is that five years ago, Zoe’s life was in danger. Back then, Zoe wasn’t Zoe at all. Now her secrets are coming back to haunt her.

As the past and present collide, Zoe must decide who she can trust before she—whoever she is—vanishes completely.

I think I will be glued to those pages!

I’ve also been “clicking” on Amazon, and downloaded Heartbreak Hotel (e-book), by Jonathan Kellerman, which I found out about through that fabulous New Release Tuesday event.  Another wonderful (and hopefully captivating) Alex Delaware book.

And I’ve been noticing this series by M. J. Arlidge, and downloaded Book One,  Eeny Meeny.

So…it’s been an eventful week so far, and it’s only Wednesday!

What is your week bringing to you?  What delightful events/books/foods are you enjoying?

I am linking up to West Metro Mommy Reads, for Saturday Snapshots.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Kay, and when I saw Book 2 on a blog today, I realized how much I’ve been wanting to start this series.

Enjoy your reading…and yes, Mimi’s is a delightful place for breakfast…and lunch, too.

    1. Thanks for visiting, Sandra, and I do enjoy my granddaughters…I only have two, and now that they’re “grown,” the times we get together are less often, but special.

Yes, the cap covers the almost non-existent hair, which she shaved a while ago. I hope she lets it grow back soon…it was always lovely, even though she changed the color every other month or so. LOL.
