TUESDAY POTPOURRI: FIRST 2018 BOOK RELEASE DAY…

It is Time for Book Release Tuesday, and since today is our FIRST Tuesday in the New Year, I am doubly excited.

My only download so far (and it was a pre-order) is a book I’ve been eagerly anticipating:  The Woman in the Window, by A.J. Finn, a twisty, powerful Hitchcockian thriller about an agoraphobic woman who believes she witnessed a crime in a neighboring house.

Description:  Anna Fox lives alone—a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times . . . and spying on her neighbors.

Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, a mother, their teenage son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn’t, her world begins to crumble—and its shocking secrets are laid bare.

What is real? What is imagined? Who is in danger? Who is in control? In this diabolically gripping thriller, no one—and nothing—is what it seems.

I am a big fan of Hitchcockian thrillers…and I’m especially drawn to agoraphobic characters who find themselves in peril.  I suspect good reading ahead!

Later today, I will receive my e-mail that announces other new releases.  Maybe I should hope that I won’t want to download any others.  I still have so many left over from previous years.

Yesterday was a good day.  I packed up my Christmas decorations and did some cleaning.  Now I feel ready to face the week!

I also have to go out and run a couple of errands, like picking up medications I ordered last week, and which I must get today or I will have to re-order them.  Sigh.

Maybe I’ll go to Barnes & Noble.  My One Word this year is CONNECT, so I should call a friend and have coffee…and browse books.  Yeah, I need more books.  LOL.

How is your New Year going so far?

  1. Connecting is good. That’s why I joined a book club and a knitting group. Our new year is going well. I took my girls to the mall to look for a jean jacket for the teen since the one we gave her for Christmas was not roomy enough for her to layer underneath. So I gave it to her sister. While shopping the teen decided she didn’t like the jacket design after trying a 4 and then a 6 so she came out with three, new sweaters instead.
