TUESDAY POTPOURRI: RAINY DAY READING & TEA — NOV. 20

Rainy days conjure up all kinds of thoughts and feelings.  Especially when the rain is a soft, non-threatening sprinkle.  I think about sloshing about in puddles, something I definitely haven’t done since I was a kid.

When it rained here on Saturday, once I determined that it probably wasn’t going to be a stormy rain with power outages, I curled up with a book and a cup of tea.

I read a Maeve Binchy novel, which evokes cozy images and feelings.  Lots of tea, etc.

Firefly Summer is one I’ve had on my stacks for years….I finally finished it!  Click title for review.

After reading for awhile, I had to grab my camera and take a few pictures of the rain.

You can’t really see much rain here, but the leaves are definitely wet.  The patio is sheltered, too, with a partial roof.

This one is better…and before the day was over, the rain stopped.

What do you like to do when it rains?  (Assuming, of course, it isn’t the hurricane kind of rain!).

  1. I love to sit in the sunroom…with its big vaulted ceilings and watch the rain falling into the pond…I love to lsten to it, too…with our new roof it has a lovely sound!

  2. I’m with you – rain rocks! It does entice me to grab a pot of tea, a nice book, and a comforter blanket to cuddle up into. Blissful, wish it rained here more.
