Welcome to Thursday Potpourri. Another blissful morning greets me, as I sit here with the cool breeze sifting in and I wait for the tea to steep. Preparing a container of iced tea gets my day off to a great start.
And I’m loving my read of Blue Plate Special, by Kate Christensen, a “ mouthwatering literary memoir about an unusual upbringing and the long, winding path to happiness.”
To say that the book is delicious is an understatement. I am trying very hard to savor this book without overeating, but with each food description, I am drooling and wondering how long it would take me, a reluctant cook, to throw together one of the feasts described within these pages. And helpfully, there are recipes.
After stashing my canister full of tea in the fridge, I decided to take a walk around the neighborhood. A way to keep myself from grabbing a snack or two.
Now I have returned….and it is close enough to lunch that I can plan out something delicious. The French toast selections sound so good to me right now, but I’ll probably have cheese on toast with a big tomato on top. Sort of like this:
Do you ever eat read books about food and find yourself salivating? Or snacking more?
I do that all of the time!

There are some books I read that make me ravenous and I’m a snacker so that’s not good.
That toast with cheese and tomato looks delicious. 🙂
