As I sip my tea this morning, I am feeling very pleased with my newest books, while keeping an eye out for those that are coming soon.

Today I downloaded Coconut Layer Cake Murder, by Joanne Fluke.  I haven’t read many books in the series…yet, but I have loved watching Alison Sweeney star as Hannah Swensen on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

Bakery owner Hannah Swensen is leaving Lake Eden to help a friend in sunny California. But an unexpected phone call swiftly brings her back to a cold Minnesota winter . . . and murder . . .

A few days ago, I pre-ordered this book in its print format…and it will arrive tomorrow:

The Girl in White Gloves:  A Novel of Grace Kelly, by Kerri Maher

A life in snapshots…

Grace knows what people see. She’s the Cinderella story. An icon of glamor and elegance frozen in dazzling Technicolor. The picture of perfection. The girl in white gloves.

A woman in living color…

But behind the lens, beyond the panoramic views of glistening Mediterranean azure, she knows the truth. The sacrifices it takes for an unappreciated girl from Philadelphia to defy her family and become the reigning queen of the screen. The heartbreaking reasons she trades Hollywood for a crown. The loneliness of being a princess in a fairy tale kingdom that is all too real.

Hardest of all for her adoring fans and loyal subjects to comprehend, is the harsh reality that to be the most envied woman in the world does not mean she is the happiest. Starved for affection and purpose, facing a labyrinth of romantic and social expectations with more twists and turns than Monaco’s infamous winding roads, Grace must find her own way to fulfillment. But what she risks–her art, her family, her marriage—she may never get back.

Yesterday, I received a NetGalley ARC of a favorite author’s newest book:

What You Wish For, by Katherine Center – (Book will be released on July 14)

From Katherine Center, the New York Times bestselling author of How to Walk Away comes a stunning new novel full of heart and hope.

Samantha Casey loves everything about her job as an elementary school librarian on the sunny, historic island of Galveston, Texas—the goofy kids, the stately Victorian building, the butterfly garden. But when the school suddenly loses its beloved principal, it turns out his replacement will be none other than Duncan Carpenter—a former, unrequited crush of Sam’s from many years before.

When Duncan shows up as her new boss, though, he’s nothing like the sweet teacher she once swooned over. He’s become stiff, and humorless, and obsessed with school safety. Now, with Duncan determined to destroy everything Sam loves about her school in the name of security—and turn it into nothing short of a prison—Sam has to stand up for everyone she cares about before the school that’s become her home is gone for good.

Finally, another NetGalley ARC came today: (Release Date:  8/11/20)

Until I Find You, by Rea Frey

In Until I Find You, celebrated author Rea Frey brings you her most explosive, emotional, taut domestic drama yet about the powerful bond between mothers and children…and how far one woman will go to bring her son home.

So…what exciting books are you awaiting?  What tomes are on your wish list?

Welcome to another Book Release Tuesday. Check out my photo, above, in which I spotlight my new Tiny Madeline Doll, which arrived from Amazon yesterday.  I was disappointed, a little, as I expected her to be the size of my “formerly owned” Madeline, who got lost along the way in my move. (See below, Halloween creatures standing by).

Now I am trying to retrieve the doll above…but I suspect that she went the way of some of my other items…sold!

That’s what happens when others move you, especially when you are relocating to a smaller space.  LOL.

Meanwhile, I am loving new books today, and just downloaded this one from Elin HIlderbrand:

What Happens in Paradise

Secret lives and new loves emerge in the bright Caribbean sunlight, in the follow-up to national bestseller Winter in Paradise…

A year ago, Irene Steele had the shock of her life: her loving husband, father to their grown sons and successful businessman, was killed in a helicopter crash. But that wasn’t Irene’s only shattering news: he’d also been leading a double life on the island of St. John, where another woman loved him, too.

On the weekend, a new book came from Amazon…another to add to my “Kennedy Collection”:

The Life of John F. Kennedy, Jr.:  America’s Reluctant Prince, by Steven M. Gillion

A major new biography of John F. Kennedy Jr. from a leading historian who was also a close friend, America’s Reluctant Prince is a deeply researched, personal, surprising, and revealing portrait of the Kennedy heir the world lost too soon.

On my list is another book that I hope to add to my shelves soon:

The Book of Gutsy Women, by Hillary Rodham Clinton and Chelsea Clinton

Hillary Rodham Clinton and her daughter, Chelsea, share the stories of the gutsy women who have inspired them—women with the courage to stand up to the status quo, ask hard questions, and get the job done.

What books are you adding to your shelves?  Which ones are on your list?
