WWW READING…

Today I’m participating in WWW Wednesdays, at Taking on a World of Words.  Here’s how it works:

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next, and/or what are you eagerly awaiting?

CURRENTLY READING: Surfside Sisters, by Nancy Thayer

A Nantucket woman returns home to find that reunions aren’t always simple, in this heartwarming novel from the New York Times bestselling author of A Nantucket Wedding and Secrets in Summer.

BOOKS READ & REVIEWED SINCE LAST POST OF 8/24/21:

The Reckoning, by Mary Trump

Lie Beside Me, by Gytha Lodge

EAGERLY ANTICIPATING: A Slow Fire Burning, by Paula Hawkins, a book I downloaded today.

Synopsis:

With the same propulsion that captivated millions of readers worldwide in The Girl on the Train and Into the Water, Paula Hawkins unfurls a gripping, twisting story of deceit, murder, and revenge.

When a young man is found gruesomely murdered in a London houseboat, it triggers questions about three women who knew him. Laura is the troubled one-night-stand last seen in the victim’s home. Carla is his grief-stricken aunt, already mourning the recent death of yet another family member. And Miriam is the nosy neighbor clearly keeping secrets from the police. Three women with separate connections to the victim. Three women who are – for different reasons – simmering with resentment. Who are, whether they know it or not, burning to right the wrongs done to them. When it comes to revenge, even good people might be capable of terrible deeds. How far might any one of them go to find peace? How long can secrets smolder before they explode into flame?

Look what you started.

That was my week.  What did yours look like?

  1. I find that I respond more emotionally to non-fiction these days (covid? quarantine?) than I did in recent years. So I’m going to pass on Mary Trump. Which is not to say I’m not glad she’s writing these books, ringing the firebell and warning us all. I just can’t right now.
