REDISCOVERING MY READING MOJO…

Today I’m participating in Sam’s WWW Wednesdays Here’s how it works:

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next, and/or what are you eagerly awaiting?

***

Today I’m reading a couple of books:  one,  a review book, and the other is from my TBR shelves.  First Flurries, the review book by Joanne DeMaio, is a visit to a lovely New England village; the author shows us about finding love and home when you’re not even looking.

And The Book Club, by Mary Alice Monroe, is about  exploring the power of friendship with tenderness, honesty and understanding.

EAGERLY ANTICIPATING:

I love books by Elizabeth Berg, whom I’ve read for many years.  I think my first one was Open House, an Oprah pick.  After reading that book, I grabbed several from her back list.

Today’s choice, which I hope to read soon, is Night of Miracles, a book with some characters from another favorite book, The Story of Arthur Truluv (click title for my review).

Synopsis:  The feel-good book of the year: a delightful novel of friendship, community, and the way small acts of kindness can change your life, by the bestselling author of The Story of Arthur Truluv

Lucille Howard is getting on in years, but she stays busy. Thanks to the inspiration of her dearly departed friend Arthur Truluv, she has begun to teach baking classes, sharing the secrets to her delicious classic Southern yellow cake, the perfect pinwheel cookies, and other sweet essentials. Her classes have become so popular that she’s hired Iris, a new resident of Mason, Missouri, as an assistant. Iris doesn’t know how to bake but she needs to keep her mind off a big decision she sorely regrets.

When a new family moves in next door and tragedy strikes, Lucille begins to look out for Lincoln, their son. Lincoln’s parents aren’t the only ones in town facing hard choices and uncertain futures. In these difficult times, the residents of Mason come together and find the true power of community—just when they need it the most.

How is your reading week?  Are you immersing yourself in books, or are you slogging along?  After a couple of slumps, I am finding my reading mojo again.  But I’m still easily distracted.  The good news:  the books I’m choosing lately are good ones.

    1. Thanks, Molly, aside from the heat, my reading slumped because I had oral surgery and other dental work done, which always makes life less fun. LOL.

I guess we had fewer hot days last month, since my PG&E bill went down more than $100.00 for the month!
