SUNDAY POTPOURRI: A COOLING TREND & HOT BOOKS…

Another Sunday to enjoy…curled up in this room, reading a NetGalley ARC (Lies, by T.M. Logan), which grabbed me right away.  Some books are like that, aren’t they?

“Assured, compelling, and hypnotically readable—with a twist at the end I guarantee you won’t see coming” (New York Times bestselling author Lee Child), T. M. Logan’s debut psychological thriller dissects a troubled marriage straight to the marrow as one man separates the truth from the Lies

I started reading the book at the neighborhood restaurant I enjoy (California Pizza Kitchen), where I had soup and a margarita, along with my book.

What a great week I’ve enjoyed!  The weather cooled down just a little bit (it’s 90 degrees right now, down from triple digits), which is not only greater in the daylight, but the nights are better, too.  I’m actually sleeping at night!

Earlier in the week, I had some help scrubbing the kitchen.  Fiona earned every dollar and thanks that I gave her.  Will she be adding another tattoo?

Tonight will be the season finale of Sharp Objects, and I’ve been on the edge of my seat waiting to see how it all concludes.  I’m also eager to watch more episodes of Chesapeake Shores and Hallmark Murders and Mysteries: Garage Sale Mystery.

So…back to my book.  Next I hope to read An Unwanted Guest. How are you spending your Sunday?  What lies ahead in the new week?

The weather was lovely this week end…we sat on the deck with Roxie and just got some sun. I binged on Murder, She Wrote…I cant explain my love for this series…Den is forever googling who the famous old stars are. We did nothing today…read papers, downloaded books, I went upstairs to our room with the girls while Den watched Darkest Hour.

We are having organic hot dogs for dinner!

    1. I do love when the weather cools down. I feel invigorated. I am loving the book Lies…it is impossible to put down…except I do set it aside now and then, mostly to check e-mails, blogs, FB.

I started to watch Darkest Hour, but then I got bored with it. LOL.

I was a big fan of Murder, She Wrote when it was a weekly show on the networks. It was my favorite Sunday night show. It is on Hallmark now, and I usually have it on as background. But my plan is to start it from the beginning on Netflix…

      Thanks for visiting, Patty.

  2. I’m so glad that you’ve had what I hope will be a permanent break from triple digits. This is my first visit to your blog, but I wanted to say that I did enjoy An Unwanted Guest. I live in the Adirondack Mountains, which has a very harsh winter climate, harsher than New England, and I loved the setting of this thriller in the Catskills Mountains, which are a three hours’ drive south of us.
I think with all your hot weather, you’ll love cooling down with this one. It’s a very quick read. Not five stars, but enjoyable.

    1. Welcome to my blog, Judith! I am glad you could stop in and share some background for my “next up” book. I would love to visit those parts IRL…but until I do, I will try to visualize that setting through books and movies.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  3. Our weather took a dramatic turn as well. We were in the upper sixties all weekend and got a little rain. The smoke and haze cleared out which is such a relief. Looks like you got some great thrillers! Enjoy your week.
