Today I’m participating in Sam’s WWW Wednesdays. Here’s how it works:
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next, and/or what are you eagerly awaiting?
***
Currently Reading: The House Swap, (e-book), by Rebecca Fleet: a house swap becomes the eerie backdrop to a chilling look inside a broken marriage filled with tantalizing secrets.
And then….Before and Again (e-book), by Barbara Delinsky, a NetGalley review book that will be released on 6/26, a story of the relationships we find ourselves in—mothers and daughters, spouses and siblings, true companions and fair-weather friends—and what kinds of sacrifices we are or aren’t willing to make to sustain them through good times and bad.
***
BOOKS FINISHED SINCE LAST WEEK (Click Titles/Covers for My Reviews):
Manhattan Beach (e-book), by Jennifer Egan (Library Book)
Nothing Forgotten, by Jessica Levine (Author Review Book)

EAGERLY ANTICIPATING:
I love this author’s books, so I was excited to discover a new one coming out on July 10. Not that long to wait! Clock Dance, by Anne Tyler, is a delightful novel of one woman’s transformative journey, from the best-selling and Pulitzer Prize-winning writer.
Synopsis: Willa Drake can count on one hand the defining moments of her life. In 1967, she is a schoolgirl coping with her mother’s sudden disappearance. In 1977, she is a college coed considering a marriage proposal. In 1997, she is a young widow trying to piece her life back together. And in 2017, she yearns to be a grandmother but isn’t sure she ever will be. Then, one day, Willa receives a startling phone call from a stranger. Without fully understanding why, she flies across the country to Baltimore to look after a young woman she’s never met, her nine-year-old daughter, and their dog, Airplane. This impulsive decision will lead Willa into uncharted territory–surrounded by eccentric neighbors who treat each other like family, she finds solace and fulfillment in unexpected places. A bewitching novel of hope, self-discovery, and second chances, Clock Dance gives us Anne Tyler at the height of her powers.

What a week! Not too many books read, but I do have a few coming up soon. What did your week look like?
***
Before and Again was so good. I hope you really enjoy it. I need to read more of her books since that was my 1st. I’ve never read anything by Anne Tyler although I’ve met her when she visited the university where I teach since she grew up in Raleigh, NC. I have A Spool of Blue Thread on my bookshelf, but I’ve just not gotten around to reading it. If you like her, I’m sure I would too! Happy reading!! Enjoy your week.

Thanks for visiting, Stephanie, and you are in for a treat with Tyler’s books, although I’ve loved some of them more than others. I enjoyed A Spool of Blue Thread, The Accidental Tourist, Ladder of Years, and The Amateur Marriage. There were others, too.
Enjoy!

I’ve never come across Anne Tyler before but the blurb of The Clock Dance intrigues me. Iike the way it’s set out in the various decades of someone’s life.
