Today I’m participating in Sam’s WWW Wednesdays. Here’s how it works:
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next, and/or what are you eagerly awaiting?
***
Currently Reading: Go Ask Fannie, by Elisabeth Hyde: an Amazon Vine review book.
Everyone has baggage. The Blaire siblings are just taking theirs home for the long weekend.

BOOKS FINISHED SINCE LAST WEEK: (Titles/Covers Linked to My Reviews)
Saints for All Occasions (e-book), by J. Courtney Sullivan
A Turn for the Bad (e-book, County Cork Mystery), by Sheila Connolly
The Darkness Gathers (e-book, Lydia Strong #2), by Lisa Unger

EAGERLY ANTICIPATING:
The Female Persuasion (e-book), by Meg Wolitzer
I’ve been eagerly awaiting this book. I did plan to borrow it from the library, but I couldn’t wait! So I downloaded it.
Synopsis: Greer Kadetsky is a shy college freshman when she meets the woman she hopes will change her life. Faith Frank, dazzlingly persuasive and elegant at sixty-three, has been a central pillar of the women’s movement for decades, a figure who inspires others to influence the world. Upon hearing Faith speak for the first time, Greer- madly in love with her boyfriend, Cory, but still full of longing for an ambition that she can’t quite place- feels her inner world light up. And then, astonishingly, Faith invites Greer to make something out of that sense of purpose, leading Greer down the most exciting path of her life as it winds toward and away from her meant-to-be love story with Cory and the future she’d always imagined.
Charming and wise, knowing and witty, Meg Wolitzer delivers a novel about power and influence, ego and loyalty, womanhood and ambition. At its heart, The Female Persuasion is about the flame we all believe is flickering inside of us, waiting to be seen and fanned by the right person at the right time. It’s a story about the people who guide and the people who follow (and how those roles evolve over time), and the desire within all of us to be pulled into the light.

What did your week look like? What lies ahead?

Enjoy The Female Persuasion, Laurel! I don’t blame you for not being able to wait! It’s utterly fantastic. I read it in a few hrs…then again, I didn’t move other, lol. I really look forward to your thoughts. 😊

Thanks, Stephanie, I think we like a lot of the same books. And I know myself well enough to realize I can’t wait 13 weeks for a book! Especially since I feel I’ve already waited a really long time. LOL

Yes, I think we definitely do! Oh no, I couldn’t have waited that long for it. Some books you just have to have asap. I was very lucky to get it from Edelweiss. That’s how I feel about Karen White’s new book, lol. I was denied an arc by NetGalley, so I’ve preordered it. I can’t wait until the library has a copy, lol.

I wanted Karen White’s new book, but NetGalley didn’t approve it for me, either. Which doesn’t make sense, because the author used to send the review books to me directly! I did interviews of her on my blog. But now that the publishers are using NetGalley, I didn’t get her book. Sigh.
So I’ll be pre-ordering it, too.

I’ve had a Sheila Connolly book in my TBR for quite a while – maybe I can get to it sooner rather than later. https://teripolen.com/2018/04/11/www-wednesday-what-am-i-reading-amreading-6/

I enjoyed reading your review of Saints For All Occasions – it sounds like a book I might enjoy. I also like the sound of The Female Persuasion. Now I know the reason my wishlist on Goodreads expands so much on a Wednesday….

Go ask Fannie’s cover suggests a family story. I wonder what the Blaire siblings’ baggage is.
