Today I’m participating in Sam’s WWW Wednesdays Here’s how it works:

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next, and/or what are you eagerly awaiting?

Currently Reading:  An American Marriage, by Tayari Jones, a profoundly insightful look into the hearts and minds of three people who are at once bound and separated by forces beyond their control.

BOOKS FINISHED SINCE LAST WEEK: (Titles/Covers Linked to My Reviews)

Even If It Kills Her (e-book, Bailey Weggins Mystery), by Kate White

An Early Wake (e-book, County Cork #3), by Sheila Connolly

I am excited about one of my April NetGalley ARCs (4/10), and hope to start reading it soon…

After Anna (e-book), by Lisa Scottoline

Synopsis:  Dr. Noah Alderman, a widower and single father, has remarried a wonderful woman, Maggie Ippolitti, and for the first time in a long time, he and his young son are happy. Despite her longing for the daughter she hasn’t seen since she was a baby, Maggie is happy too, and she’s even more overjoyed when she unexpectedly gets another chance to be a mother to the child she thought she’d lost forever, her only daughter Anna.

Maggie and Noah know that having Anna around will change their lives, but they would never have guessed that everything would go wrong, and so quickly. Anna turns out to be a gorgeous seventeen-year-old who balks at living under their rules, though Maggie, ecstatic to have her daughter back, ignores the red flags that hint at the trouble brewing in a once-perfect marriage and home.

Events take a heartbreaking turn when Anna is murdered and Noah is accused and tried for the heinous crime. Maggie must face not only the devastation of losing her daughter, but the realization that Anna’s murder may have been at the hands of a husband she loves. In the wake of this tragedy, new information drives Maggie to search for the truth, leading her to discover something darker than she could have ever imagined.

Riveting and disquieting, After Anna is a groundbreaking domestic thriller, as well as a novel of emotional justice and legal intrigue. And New York Times bestselling author Lisa Scottoline will keep readers on their toes until the final shocking page…

So…that was my week.  How did yours unfold?

  1. An American Marriage was a 5 star read for me; I truly enjoyed it. Jones is just a brilliant writer, and I see why it was chosen for Oprahs Book Club. I hope your enjoying it! I’m looking forward to After Alice. I love Scottoline’s books! Happy Reading! ❤

  2. I thought of requesting After Anna on NetGalley too, but I decided against it, because I have a few NetGalley books I have to finish before requesting new ones. I hope you’ll enjoy that one!

    • Thanks for stopping by, Ronnie, and I know what you mean about requesting books…the pile grows! But I’m happy to have After Anna.

Even if I hadn’t gotten the ARC, I would have bought the book, since I love Scottoline’s books.
