Today I’m participating in Sam’s WWW Wednesdays. Here’s how it works:
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next, and/or what are you eagerly awaiting?
***
The Wife (e-book), by Alafair Burke: This much-anticipated follow-up to Burke’s Edgar-nominated The Ex asks how far a wife will go to protect the man she loves: Will she stand by his side, even if he drags her down with him?
I also started reading Fates & Furies, by Lauren Groff, but I DNFed it at 40%. Sadly. I just didn’t like any of the characters.

BOOKS FINISHED SINCE LAST WEEK: (Click Titles/Covers for My Reviews)
I read only two books since last week, but they were good ones.
Promise Not to Tell (e-book), by Jayne Ann Krentz
Exposed (e-book, Rosato & DiNunzio Novel), by Lisa Scottoline

EAGERLY ANTICIPATING:
Bring Me Back (e-book), by B. A. Paris – Release Date: June 19, 2018
THE NEW TWISTY, GRIPPING READ FROM THE AUTHOR OF THE INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES AND USA TODAY BESTSELLING NOVELS BEHIND CLOSED DOORS AND THE BREAKDOWN
“We’re in a new Golden Age of suspense writing now, because of amazing books like Bring Me Back, and I for one am loving it.” —Lee Child
A young British couple are driving through France on vacation when they stop at a service station. He runs in to use the restroom, she stays in the car. When he returns, her car door has been left open, but she’s not inside. No one ever sees her again.
Ten years later he’s engaged to be married; he’s happy, and his past is only a tiny part of his life now. Until he comes home from work one day and finds his new fiancée sitting on their sofa turning something over in her fingers, holding it up to the light. Something that would have no worth to anyone else, something only he and she would know about, because his wife-to-be is the sister of his missing first love.
As more and more questions are raised, their relationship becomes strained. Has his first love somehow come back to him after all this time? Or is the person who took her playing games with his mind?

So…that was my week. How did yours unfold?

You keep tempting me with The Wife although I’m pleased to say I have a copy of Bring Me Back. Happy reading 😊

Like the look of your choices. I’ve actually never read any of them, and never heard of a few. Here’s my WWW – https://whisperingstories.com/wednesday-reading-7th-february-2018/

You are definitely anticipating some sizzlers! Is sizzlers a word?

Thanks, Patty, I think “sizzlers” is an apt description of these books. Enjoy yours…and I’m glad you could stop by.

I did like her books when I read them, not sure why I stopped, probably couldn’t find her books.

That’s too bad you had to DNF Fates and Furies, but we can’t love them all! Better luck next book.

Thanks for visiting, Deanna, and I hated to DNF a book I was sure I would enjoy. Sigh. And…I may go back to it. Perhaps it’s my mood.
Enjoy your week!

Ooooh I read and really enjoyed The Ex but hadn’t heard there was a follow-up! Is it a proper sequel?
Thanks for visiting my WWW – https://bookboodle.co.uk/2018/02/07/www-wednesday-february-7th

It doesn’t feel like a sequel, Lindsay, except that there is one recurring character. One of the attorneys in this current novel was featured in The Ex. Both books could read as stand-alones.
Enjoy!

I haven’t heard of any of the authors listed here but the Alafair Edgar one sounds interesting. Unusual first name too!

I hadn’t read anything by this author on her own until I read The Ex. Before that, I had read a series of books she co-wrote with Mary Higgins Clark, so I knew I would enjoy this book as well as The Ex.
Thanks for stopping by, Sue, and enjoy your reading.

Always interesting to get new ideas about books to read but so many books and so little time…

Do you give your books a certain amount of time before you DNF them? I always used to tell students (I am a recovering English teacher) that it takes 50 pages to make a decision.

Thanks for visiting, PhiliB…I love the expression “recovering English teacher.” LOL
My rules about DNF vary, from 50 pages to 100 or more. I will give a book a little more if I really wanted to like it…and then I give up if I can’t make the book resonate in any way.
BTW…I am a “recovering Social worker.”
