Welcome to another Tuesday celebrating bookish events, from Tuesday/First Chapter/Intros, hosted by Bibliophile by the Sea; and Teaser Tuesdays hosted by Should Be Reading.
Today’s chosen feature is a review book I’ll be reading for a November 14 Blog Tour Stop at Rainy Days and Mondays.
Woman on Top, by Deborah Schwartz, is a sexy, romantic self-empowerment novel.
Intro: October: Leonard told me that it was his mother’s fault, a result of the fact that she smoked throughout her pregnancy with him, that he would grow to a mere five feet five inches. Since I never saw a picture of her, I never knew if it was also her fault, although hardly preventable, that no woman on the streets of New York would ever turn her head if he walked by.He had married a beautiful woman, his high school sweetheart, and considered their union as one of “Beauty and the Beast.” He had all the trappings of the little man, the Napoleon, who was to succeed grandly and existed to control those around him.

Teaser: January: Len called the night he returned from his holiday vacation. Snuggled under a thick duvet and reading the New York Times Magazine, the ring of the phone startled me. (p. 33).
***
Blurb: Falling prey to Len, a very wealthy Wall Street banker hell-bent on acquiring her as his next deal, Kate struggles after the death of her husband to keep control amidst the detours of a tempestuous New York romance. Woman on Top is the captivating tale of the seduction of enormous money, heady excitement, and luxurious glamour. As witness to a world of power and greed that life in New York offers to a vulnerable woman, can Kate ultimately rescue herself from the lure that is Len’s world? While following her quest for a reaffirmation of life and love, including a surprising adventure, Kate’s story touches on the unexpected pleasures, and decisions we face throughout our lives. Readers who have dreamed of, or have survived a “Len” in their lives, will recognize themselves in Kate as she searches to find what matters most in her new life.
***What do you think? Would you keep reading?
It sounds good…if I had time I might read it.

I’m with you about too many blog tours–I have 3 in November– but maybe you will enjoy this book. Theme seems to be that looks aren’t as much of an aphrodisiac as power is. Maybe I’m wrong, just a guess.

I don’t know about this one. The relationship has disaster written all over it. I’m more of a happy ending reader. Actually, I hope I’m wrong.
