Welcome to our Monday Potpourri, in which we spotlight Musing Mondays, hosted by Should Be Reading.
Here’s our prompt:
How far along are you in your current read before you start thinking about what you’ll read next?
This is actually an easy question, as I plan out my week’s reads and post them on It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?
Even as I list them in the post, I actually stack them on my office coffee table in order of what I’m going to read next.
To carry the compulsiveness a step further, I have next week’s stack below that one, but not necessarily in the order of when I’ll read them.
This year, I’m also focused on my TBR stacks, which I’m determined to whittle down before year’s end.
What about the rest of you? Here’s what’s up next for me.
Followed by:
Hope you’ll stop by and share….
It’s hard – tbr list and then new books coming out. Here’s my Musing
Happy reading!

I usually don’t think ahead of what I will be reading next, unless, I will be joining a Read-A-Thon, that week, than I plan my reading schedule. But, mostly it’s just what I may be in the mood for.
I too am trying to whittle at my TBR pile this year.

It’s good to be flexible and even spontaneous…I would like more of that feeling. Thanks for stopping by, Gigi Ann.

My TBR stack just gets bigger. I really need to catch up on some reading, without adding. Sigh So many books, so little time!

Pretty much…I do sometimes change the order up, if the mood strikes me. Thanks for stopping by, Laura.

I would love to get my TBR stack down. I did decide this month to clear out my NetGalley stack and not take a book if I could not read it immediately. Thanks for visiting.

I have hopes of actually doing it someday, Jo; however, I should mention that I have my Old TBRs, which I’m working on, as well as the New TBRs. I suspect that there will always be a stack somewhere….
Thanks for stopping by.

That’s what I call planning ahead, yet allowing for flexibility. Works for me. Thanks for stopping by, Yvonne.

Hello! Thanks for visiting my blog!
I am very bad at planning ahead. I almost never plan. The reading challenges have made me a little more disciplined, I guess but I still love to be spontaneous.

I like to plan, knowing that I can veer off the path at any time…lol

I make lists! I have lists written down to paper all over our house. I also post lists to my blog. And I make lists on Goodreads, out of books and in my head. But apparently that’s not enough, since I always seem to forget about them as soon as I find a new, amazing book I really need to start being more organized..
But what can you say, I’m “emotional reader”, so I always have to go where my heart tells me to 😉
Thanks for sharing, and thanks for stopping by! 🙂

Oh, I can relate to the list making…but, like you, I acknowledge that the lists are not written in stone; we can veer off into whatever catches our fancy.
Thanks for stopping by, Monaliz.

I’m always thinking about the next book – I think I have a fear of running out!
Love the banner on your blog – it’s adorable.

That could be my reason for my huge TBR stacks, too, Ann. I didn’t have that many books as a child and had to wait for the library visits….
A feeling that never goes away, I suspect. Always worried about running out of books….
Thanks for stopping by, and I’m glad you like the banner. I am a big fan of “cute” and “quirky.”

I like the idea of stacking them up. It makes it more organized. 🙂

Thanks, Jerika…I apparently need a little “visual” image to motivate me. Glad you could stop by, and enjoy your reading.
