MONDAY POTPOURRI — PAPER BLIZZARD — NOV. 7

BURIED UNDER A MOUNTAIN OF PAPER

Good morning, Blog World!  Yesterday I had an obsession.

What?  Not a new thing, you might say.  But this was one of those that wasn’t even slightly fun.  A tedious chore, if you will.

I stared awhile at my desk/table, the long one that runs at right angles to my computer desk; the one that holds all manner of STUFF.  Dolls, notebooks, decorative mugs, and a potpourri of old bills that cluttered up a large portion of the table.  Not a pretty sight.

Then I looked beneath my computer and saw a pretty box that held more old bills.  I thought:  hmm, I could put all the more current stuff in here and set it on the table; then I could shred all the old stuff.  The desk area would be cleaner.

So that’s what I did.  Well, the part about taking out the old stuff to shred and putting the new stuff in the box.

A GLIMPSE OF THE "BEFORE"

Shredding is a lengthy task.  First I had to empty the shredder….a chore for another day.

First thing today, I did my Monday Memes...then I stared at the shredder for awhile and then, finally, grabbed a trash bag and dumped it.

Next I grabbed a stack of the old bills and piled it next to the shredder.

Okay…now what?  Well, I grabbed a mimosa and started shredding.

Here’s where I am now….

SLIGHTLY BETTER....

And I’ve reduced the shred pile down to this….

MORE SHREDDING IN MY FUTURE....

I’m pretty sure that one of my New Year’s resolutions will be to shred a little at a time, from the back of the box…and not wait until the paper mountain explodes.  Yes, that would make sense.

I’m also wondering if I should go paperless….

What are your thoughts?  Do you have a mountain of paper…a literal blizzard that you must hack away at from time to time?  Or what works for you?

  1. I don’t think we have that much…but shredding does take time…I think we take papers to a big shredding place…and we are as paperless as possible…
But…it looks nice and neat…and the mimosa looks really good…so …good job!!!

    Cheers!!!
