Today’s book is Now You See Her, by Joy Fielding, and spotlights the life of a fifty-something newly divorced woman who lost her daughter two years earlier.  She has gone to Ireland alone, on the occasion that would have been her twenty-fifth wedding anniversary.

 

Teaser: Ten minutes later, she found herself alone at a tiny table for two inside another traditional Irish pub overlooking the river Lee.  It was dark inside, which suited the mood that was rapidly overtaking her.  p. 6

Tuesday Teaser:  Denise was familiar with impulsiveness disguised and renamed spontaneity.  Living with the wreckage of her own whirlwind adventures had ultimately led to some positive growth, but the price had been high.  But then maybe nothing worthwhile came without a price of one kind or another.  She guessed that the trick was to minimize the costs while absorbing the precious gems at the core of each life lesson.
