Welcome to Teaser Tuesdays, hosted by Should Be Reading.
Here’s how it works:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Today I’m spotlighting a book about the complicated relationships between four NY women, and what happens when we are disappointed by friendship. With Friends Like These is by Sally Koslow.
“You seem to be missing the point.” Quincy had balled up her hands as if she was going to throw a punch. “Maybe I need to put this in terms you can understand. If we were shopping at the Barney’s warehouse sale,” she began, dripping condescension, “and I spotted a pair of pants and took them to the try-on area, when I turn my back you don’t get to grab them.” p. 63
Wow! That sounds intense, doesn’t it? What can you tease us with today? I hope you’ll stop by and share!
Great teaser. Makes me want to read the entire scene for more information 🙂 Thanks for sharing
here’s my Tuesday Teaser for the week

What an intense teaser. Sounds good!
Thanks for agreeing with me about when the main hub goes up on Tuesdays. I ended up being way down the list today, #82. She doesn’t post the time on her posts, either, or list her time zone, so it’s always hard knowing when it actually went up.

I agree…it is difficult to time it just right, Heather, and sometimes I stay up late hoping to catch a better “place” in line! lol

Very intense! It reminds me of that saying, “With friends like these, who need enemies.”

Well, I always figure anything goes at a warehouse sale – even among friends! Which is why I shop alone. Love the teaser. And the cover, too!

I know what you mean, smellincoffee…it reminds me of those “mean girls” in high school who hold onto friends like they’re hostages.
