Welcome to Teaser Tuesdays, the favorite meme of bloggers who enjoy seeing what everyone else is reading. Hosted by Should Be Reading, you can play too. Just follow these rules:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week, I’m excerpting from a book I’ve just started. Comfort Food, by Kate Jacobs, is about a woman named Augustus (Gus) who hosts a TV cooking show. But she is facing a birthday she’d rather not think about…the big 5-0. And she wants to make some big changes.
In the excerpt below, the passage is spotlighting one of Gus’s friends.
The carriage house had been Hannah’s first —and only—major purchase, other than a red sports car which sat, its battery disconnected, covered under a sheet in the garage. A memento from another time. p. 81
What exciting tidbits did you find this week? I hope you’ll pop on over here and share….
Brilliant teaser, you have left me with a lot of questions and now I am adding the book to my list. My TT: http://www.rundpinne.com/2010/08/teaser-tuesdays-i-curse-the-river-of-time.html
