Exploring the quirky world of Alison Temple (aka Alison Wonderland) is a journey into the London singles scene, as well as an exploration of the social issues of the times.
After her divorce, Alison Temple signs on as an investigator at Ella Fitzgerald’s detective agency, using the name Alison Wonderland. Her world also includes a potpourri of other individuals, such as her neighbor Jeff, her friend Taron, and an assortment of characters she meets in her investigations.
Alison Wonderland seems to be a satirical quest as one woman ventures into the world as a single person. Dialogue between the characters Alison and Taron is fun and lively.
Sometimes I couldn’t find much point to the story, but I did enjoy the author’s conversational tone and unique humor.
Three stars.
